This small area called Tangle Creek spans both sides of a loop road for about 200 yards close to Lower Geyser Basin. Whilst this is not among the most famous locations in Yellowstone, it offers some of the finest photography available.

The hot waters of the pool create fantastic conditions of steam and mist. Combine this with the forest of dead trees and one has a recipe for some stunning photographs. The area changes constantly with the weather conditions and is best in the cold early morning with the backlighting from the sun.
