island of Lesvos is like no other of the Greek islands. It is the
third largest of the islands in Greece behind Crete and Evia. Virtually
unaffected by the mass tourism that has turned other islands into
amusement parks, Lesvos is blessed with more varieties of birds and
wildflowers then anywhere in Europe. In the Spring Lesvos has one
of the most incredible displays of wildflowers and wildbirds you will
ever see. The island is a main stop in the migration routes for European
birds coming from Africa and has an amazing variety of local birds.

in respect to the birds and varieties of wildflowers.
